Upgrade Paths: Citation CJ3 to Citation Sovereign

As families or businesses grow the need for better accommodations increases, even in something as simple as private jet travel. In this scenario, I’m going to share insights for an owner who is ready to move out of a CJ3 into another aircraft.

The natural progression is to go into something like a Citation Sovereign. Many owners make a transition such as this because they no longer need a single pilot platform. They may be flying part 135 or charter with a management company, leveraging two pilots. And besides at that point, it is better to have a standup cabin configuration with room for two more people- nine passengers in comparison to the CJ37. For the owner looking for a higher nautical mile range, the Sovereign is going to be the right choice. They may need a budget almost twice the size, but between the range, cabin configuration and useful payload, it’s worth it.

We’ve pulled the data on these aircraft into a side-by-side comparison for your reference. Check it out by visiting wepushtin.com/sidebyside.
